Tampa Bay Baptists announce new church planting site

TAMPA, FL – The Tampa Bay Baptist Association announced today plans to build a new church planting Web site at www.tampabaychurchplanting.com.

The TBBA’s Director of Mission, Mike Kahn, said the new project will be a resource for existing churches, planters and future planters who may be exploring a call to the area.

The new site comes complete with a new blog and a series of videos, all developed and produced by Boe Ellis of CJEllis | CERICDigital.

“Our approach,” Ellis said, “is to come into a city, to meet with pastors and people on the streets and just let the city tell its own story. It’s a model that has worked really well for us and for church planting leaders in the Northeast and Toronto, and we expect with the diversity and incredible opportunities in Tampa, that it will work very well there also.”

Kahn said he is excited about the future.

“For me, it’s all about the Great Commission and multiplying the church,” he said. “And church planting is the very best way to reach people who have not heard the Good News.”

Ellis said he expects Phase I of the project to be completed by the end of March, 2014.
